WHO WE ARE

The Aden Community Center is a recreational and educational center located in Bridgeview, a south suburb of Chicago. We are a non for profit organization center open to everyone, with services catering to the Arab American community of Chicago. The Aden Community Center is driven to provide social support, group activities, educational support, and recreational services to members of the Bridgeview and the Chicago land area communities. We hope to bring benefiting resources and quality services to our community center for all peoples of different age and background.

WHAT WE DO

The Aden Community Center aims to provide members of the community with the best services and resources. We have worked hard to provide quality services for you, lead by experienced and innovative leaders of the community fluent in both the English and Arabic languages. Services we offer include, but are not limited to, after-school tutoring, Quran classes, English language classes, recreational services ( basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc.) and more! At Aden Community Center, we welcome families and individuals to become members of our center TODAY. You can begin to take part in our engaging and enjoyable group activities we host, meet new friends, stay in shape with our indoor recreational services, and enhance your own skills or learn new ones by joining. Aden Center The Connecting Link

At Aden Center we dedicated ourselves to becoming the link to self –development that all the members of the American Muslim Community aspire for. We are inspired by our Islamic morals and the Prophet PBUH teachings, to provide a variety of educational, social and sports programs. The Center is focused on the children and youth of the surrounding community. We tailor the programs to fit their needs and lifestyle, our goal is to raise a generation proud to be Muslims. Women occupy a considerable part of our attention as well, that’s why we dedicated the weekday mornings to their education and enhancing their life skills, we did not forget their share in sports as well.

Only at Aden…

Muslim and Proud: a unique dedicated program for boys only 13-17 years old. It is mainly focused on raising strong Islamic Leaders and teaching them Arabic Language, Quran Interpretation, recitation and memorization, while instilling positive Muslims behaviors and essential life skills in them.

Darajat: an intense Islamic Studies program for women and girls 13 years and up, in the duration of three years they study; Islamic ideologies (Aqeedah), Figh, Seerah, Sharee’a, Quran Interpretation and more. Putting them on the first steps of becoming this generations Muslim Scholars.

Educational Empowerment

Weekend School Programs

Al-Bashaer: Saturday School Program for girls 5-17 and boys 5-12 years old, focusing on Arabic Language, Quran Recitation and Memorization and Islamic Studies.

Al-Bayan: Sunday School Program for girls 5-14 and boys 5-12 years old, focusing on instilling the Arabic Language basics in younger children, After School Programs

Quran Memorization: Children and youth 5-17 years can memorize Quran by repeating after the teacher. This program follows a well-planned schedule that will enable the students to memorize the assigned chapters from the Quran.

Summer Camps: Aden Center provides camps during Summer as well Ramadan Quran Camp; as the and Summer Camps for children and women.

Adult Classes

The Center provides a rich variety of weekly classes for Adults including Quran recitations improvement and memorization, Languages, Computer skills and more. Women classes are carried out in the morning during weekdays while men classes are late evenings, for their convenience.

Recreation & Sports

As the Prophet PBUH said: “The strong believer is better than the weak one and there’s good in each”, Aden Center is determined in building. healthy minds are in healthy bodies. There is a slot of time at Aden Center Gym for everyone, categorized for different genders and age groups. The sports programs include, basketball, soccer, volleyball, boxing and karate for boys and men, while women and girls do yoga, zumba, gymnastics and more. The sports department also form teams that compete with other schools and clubs.

Social & Entertainment

At Aden Center we believe in the strength of the community, as the Prophet PBUH said (Believers to each other are like bricks in a building holding and supporting each other”. Social events, life skills workshops, fieldtrips BBQ and other activities are organized by the center all the time and for all ages. The Center introduced a monthly gathering for ladies and men, called Diwaniat Aden, inspired by Arabian traditional congregations to discuss current issues, with a new theme each month.

The center also organizes gatherings and other social events for youth as well, including field trips, BBQ’s swimming sessions.

Aden EXPO: the center provides opportunities for families with small businesses to sell their goods and services to the community, in a fun social forum.

Life Skills

Effective Coaching and My Family First Dr. Nisreen Ali, a certified social coach, is holding some life skills workshops at Aden Center, focused on family awareness and effective communication skills between the family members to strengthen the family ties and ensure their happiness. These sessions are held for women, because of their critical role in the family and the society, either in the form of monthly discussion forums or intense drill courses.
